Jane has been a member of the Charleston community since 1966. She graduated from Sullins College in 1964, the University of South Carolina in 1966 and has taken several courses from The College of Charleston and The Citadel. After college, Jane taught at Lambs Elementary School. In the seventies, she taught cooking and later worked as the restaurant critic for the Post & Courier. Jane was on the board of Johnson & Wales University, a culinary institute formerly located in Charleston. She was the manager of a ladies’ specialty shop, l’Unique, and was also a volunteer for Spoleto Festival U.S.A. for eight years, working as a special assistant to its founder, Gian Carlo Menotti. Jane’s extensive travel and work experience in divergent venues has enabled her to interact with a large variety of personalities and her love of ambiance allows her to visualize the optimum use for a property. Jane has worked full time in real estate for the last fourteen years. Jane is also a published author of Charleston – People, Places and Food.
